(CD)services lead community organizations to new business, housing, and economic development opportunity. Unmet demand for program innovations or expansion of existing services are reviewed and evaluated. The Community Development Report identifies and defines capacity development opportunities. In most cases the CD Report is produced with the selection of one or all of the following services.
Demographic Research (DR)selects relevant data from over three thousand variables in the U.S. Census and thousands more in the census of retail trade, business, and manufacturing.Reports define untapped retail business development opportunities. The Demographic Research Report draws on a combination of national and local market analysis techniques tailored to the needs of community-based organizations in their working relationship with public agencies, business associations and workforce support organizations. The facts are friendly. Field Research (FR) is used to develop two types of primary data to confirm existing land use, environmental condition and public opinion data. The first is used to update geographic information systems (GIS) and related real estate data sets to identify economic development opportunities. The second produces public opinion surveys and analysis for use in building constituencies for community-based planning and urban design workshops. The Field Research Report enhances the capacity of community organizations to identify influences most likely to affect housing, business, charitable and civic organizations. Organization Development (OD) services review an organization's "climate" for communication, information management, and data sharing practices. Quality measures and key performance indicators are defined an implemented. Resources to build strengths, manage weaknesses, define constraints and resolve issues range from interpersonal mediation to the adaptation of information technology practices. The Organization Development Report produces choices for immediate interventions in program and staff development. Strategic Planning (SP) provides organizations with methods to conduct effective environmental scans. These scans examine competitive relationships for civic, business, and public agencies. The Strategic Plannng Report produces a road map designed for use by the executive staff and board of directors of both profit and nonprofit corporations throughout the region.
