Six Principles

Bike Share Program
To establish a working bike-share program in Flushing Meadow Park it will be necessary to:

  1. Connect to numerous community organizations, environmental, social-justice groups, and invite their participation in this world-wide exploration of better, human-scale and powered, more technically-advanced, economical and sensible forms of transportation, at a time when harsh adversity has enabled the accepted paradigms to be questioned for the first time in nearly a century.
  2. Demonstrate the existence of proper vehicles and show some of them, in the form of a publication which can be used to promote the location and proposal, an exhibit of large images posted by the lake, and by making as many of them available to actually use and experience as possible
  3. Give artists and designers a means to express their creativity, especially those from the full spectrum of countries of origin evident in close proximity to FMCP, and connection to everyone who could be enjoying this unique, world-famous space.
  4. Demonstrate the technology of tracking, unlocking, billing for the use of vehicles, displaying their locations, reserving them for use
  5. Provide a business plan for a cooperative-type program of design, testing, provision, maintenance and constant improvement of the lightest and least impactful forms of transport while also encouraging the growth of other badly-needed shared-vehicle and shared-ride systems involving cars etc.
  6. Prove the reliability of the entity by forming a board which includes a number of known and respected persons, financial commitments sufficient to successfully operate the proposed system and a team of acknowledged professionals capable of implementing and managing this effort immediately.
